Job Description

Job Summary:

The  Payroll Analyst II will work in the Sonic Shared Services Center and be responsible for all day to day payroll processing for Corporate and Divisional associates using the UKG Pro system.   In addition the Payroll Analyst II will assist the Payroll Supervisor as needed with additional processing tasks and projects. The Payroll Analyst II will also work to implement process improvements and payroll best practices.

Essential Functions:

•Oversee daily operations of the corporate and divisional payrolls.  

                                 
•Ensure accurate and timely submission of  payroll processing activities.                                  
•Execute SOPs relating to Payroll operations and all related activities including any applicable reconciliations.        

                            
•Execute Sarbanes-Oxley compliant processes, procedures, and controls for all payroll-related processes.          

                         
•Ensure compliance with internal controls and all external payroll compliance regulations and requirements.     

                               
•Build relationships with internal partners (human resources, finance, benefits, and operations) to ensure SLA’s/expectations are being met and to identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes.         

                           
•Work closely with our payroll IS when issues arise and log tickets as appropriate; and assist with UKG project testing.        

                         
•Play a leading role in all payroll related projects.          

                         
•Work to establish payroll best practices, including automation of manual processes.                                    
•Develop new or modify existing policies to increase productivity and optimize efficiency.                                    

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.  Preference will be given to candidates with a CPP.  Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.  Candidates must have excellent communication skills. 

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing and payroll accounting. Candidates should have experience in administering payroll which includes in depth research skills and knowledge.  Candidates should have thorough knowledge of payroll "best-in- industry" practices.  Candidate should have a thorough knowledge of how payroll feeds to the financial statements.   This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, and an ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.   Candidates must be detail oriented, results oriented, and have an ability to think strategically.
