Internal audit conducts “playbook” audits of the individual dealerships owned by Sonic Automotive. The goal of internal audit is to conduct playbook audits to improve dealership operations by establishing accountability, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and enhancing the transparency of activities. 

Successful Compliance Analysts come from many backgrounds. For this entry-level position, internal audit is looking for candidates who have strong communication and analytical skills, the ability to build effective working relationships, and a strong desire for professional development. 

Work under the direct supervision of the Audit Compliance Manager

Compliance Analysts perform audits of automotive dealerships. After a period of initial training and onboarding, Compliance Analysts are responsible for performing various audit-related tasks, including, but not limited to, conducting audit testing and preparing electronic work papers, attending and participating in meetings and interviews, employing analytical skills in assessing documents and records, and preparing various written documents. 
Compliance Analysts are required to travel to dealership locations and are expected to complete all of their assigned work in a timely and professional manner in accordance with internal audit policies and Institute of Internal Audit Standards (IIA). 
At the completion of an audit, Compliance Analysts conduct an exit meeting and produce a written report of the results.
Travel will be approximately 80%.

The successful candidate will possess and/or demonstrate the following: 

•         Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration

•         Strong oral and written communication skills

•         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access

•         Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills and ability to think critically and creatively

•         The ability and desire to be a self-starter and follow through with assigned tasks within established timeframes with a minimum amount of supervision

•         Strong collaboration, interpersonal management, and relationship skills 
Ability to exercise sound judgment
