Job Description
The Body Shop Customer Service serves as the first point of contact for BMW service customers who have visible vehicle damage. This role proactively identifies repair opportunities, engages guests with professionalism, utilizes AI estimating technology to generate preliminary repair estimates, and partners with the Collision Center to increase customer awareness and body shop sales. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering an exceptional ownership experience.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage BMW service customers whose vehicles have visible cosmetic or collision damage while on the service drive.
- Conduct vehicle walk-arounds and utilize AI-powered estimating technology to create preliminary repair estimates quickly and accurately.
- Educate customers on repair options, insurance and customer-pay processes, and the benefits of repairing their vehicle at our certified collision center.
- Coordinate with the Collision Center team to schedule estimates, repairs, and customer follow-up, ensuring a seamless experience from service to body shop.
- Build strong relationships with Service Advisors and technicians to identify repair opportunities and maximize collision center referrals.
- Track customer interactions, estimate conversions, and follow-up activities to help achieve collision center sales and performance goals.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Sonic Automotive's commitment to transparency, integrity, and guest satisfaction.
- Automotive, collision repair, or customer service experience preferred.
- Previous experience in automotive service, collision repair, estimating, sales, or customer-facing roles is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable learning and utilizing AI estimating platforms, dealership software, and digital communication tools.
- Ability to identify vehicle damage and communicate repair recommendations in a clear, professional manner.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with service and collision teams.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug screening.
Compensation:
- $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
- Hourly plus bonus
- Based on performance
Schedule:
- Full Time
- Monday through Friday availability
- Saturday / Sunday off
