Hourly Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Job Description
Purpose:
The Parts Counterperson sells parts at retail to customers over the counter, through the shop, or by phone, ensuring excellent service and accurate order fulfillment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion products, offer specials, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
- Pull purchases from stock, determine availability for out-of-stock items, and submit emergency orders as requested.
- Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and product information, and assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up and verify "will call" and "back order" files weekly.
- Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs and process charge-outs by verifying repair order and parts requisition documentation.
- Order parts not in stock after discussion with Shop Foreman to ensure customer needs are met.
- Issue credit for returned parts with original invoice verification and process tax-exempt and credit card transactions per dealership guidelines.
- Maintain clean and organized counter areas; replenish assigned inventory daily and stay current on new products.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures; immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- One year of experience in an automotive parts dept.
- One year of sales experience.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
- Will be required to wear a dealership uniform at all times.

- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
