Salary Range:

$100k- 175k Annually depending on performance

Job Description

The Sales Manager is responsible for establishing and achieving gross profit objectives on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. They will ensure that retail and fleet unit sales produce sufficient gross profit to support the dealership's profit objectives while managing the New- and Used-vehicle Sales Departments through planning, organizing, coordinating, and measuring departmental activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop monthly vehicle requirements projections and establish unit sales, gross profit, and departmental profit forecasts for the immediate 90-day sales period.
  • Conduct individual forecasting sessions with each salesperson to establish objectives for customer volume, closing percentages, time utilization, prospecting efforts, and projected income.
  • Recommend to the Dealer procedures for advertising, sales promotions, staffing needs, compensation plans, and customer complaint resolution.
  • Prepare and submit a weekly Plan of Action to the Dealer.
  • Conduct daily meetings with salespeople to review results, plan activities, and provide ongoing on-the-job training and coaching to ensure adherence to prospecting programs and sales standards.
  • Review monthly commission sheets, productivity reports, and profit performance by salesperson and department with the Dealer.
  • Maintain balanced vehicle inventory and establish programs for moving aged inventory (new cars over 90 days and used cars over 45 days).
  • Implement and monitor Factory Standards and customer satisfaction programs to achieve 100% Customer Satisfaction ratings.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Two years of automotive sales experience.
  • One year in a dealership management position.
  • Must be legally and technically able to safely operate Company and customer-owned vehicles.
  • Must be insurable by Company insurance carrier.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills. Excellent managerial skills.

  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
