Job Description
The Staff Accountant ensures compliance with internal controls and dealership policies while working closely with the Controller, department managers, and leadership team on financial accuracy, reporting, and special projects as needed.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily posting and reconciliation of cash, check, and credit card deposits; reconciling bank accounts, floorplan, and manufacturer statements; posting and reconciling vehicle deals, commissions, and incentives; and processing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable. This role maintains accurate general ledger entries and supporting schedules, assists with month-end and year-end close, prepares and submits sales tax, payroll tax, and other required reports, and supports audits and manufacturer financial reporting.
Preferred:
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an automotive dealership.
- Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes.
- Experience with dealership DMS systems (CDK, Reynolds, Dealertrack).
- Solid knowledge of GAAP principles.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Required:
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver's license.
Salary: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour
- Depends on qualifications
Schedule:
- Full Time
- Monday through Friday availability
- May require weekends during end of month closure.
