Job Description

Summary:

The Service Lane Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service drive, managing workflow, labor, and customer interactions to ensure an efficient, customer-focused experience. This role supports the Service Manager/Service Director in achieving department goals and maintaining high operational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the service lane workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee technician scheduling, work distribution, and labor cost control.
  • Monitor KPIs and service drive performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all service activities.
  • Address customer concerns, complaints, and escalations promptly and professionally.
  • Support sales of additional services and products to meet department goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of walk-arounds, active deliveries, and menu closes.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager, Parts Manager, and other departments as needed.
  • Quality-check repair orders for accuracy, warranty compliance, and dealership standards.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of automotive dealership experience overseeing a service lane.
  • Prior supervisor experience managing service operations, labor costs, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chevrolet experience preferred.
