Job Description
The Service Cashier will be responsible for handling cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately and efficiently, while also assisting customers with inquiries related to payments, invoices, and other financial matters. The Service Cashier will be responsible for booking and scheduling service appointments with customers that contact the dealership via the internet to schedule or inquire about service repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and process cash transactions for vehicle purchases, parts, and service payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dealership policies and procedures.
- Perform regular cash counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Calculate the customer's bill using the dealership's computer system.
- Process credit card and debit card transactions securely, verifying account information, obtaining proper authorizations, and issuing receipts promptly.
- Handle check payments, ensuring proper documentation and verification.
- Generate and process invoices for vehicle sales, service, and parts transactions.
- Give cash refunds accurately to customers for approved returned merchandise.
- Work with department managers to keep abreast of new products and services offered by the dealership and any changes in price.
- Assist service department with taking phone calls to schedule appointments.
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a cashier, making and setting appointments.
- Previous experience working in an automotive dealership.
- Ability to multi-task to book and schedule appointments in-person or over the phone.
- Basic computer skills with computers and office machines (Copier, credit card machine, telephone, adding machine).
- Strong communication and communication skills.
- Must be comfortable with basic math calculations and possess a good eye for detail to avoid errors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Required:
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
(The cashier position has a pay scale consisting of the following, Wages included base hourly compensation of $20.00.)
