Job Description
Summary:
The Shop Foreman directs the activities of the shop teammates in performing mechanical repairs, meeting time schedules, and productivity levels while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting technicians in performing technical activities.
- Diagnose and repair to specifications – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the shops' operations such as hazardous waste disposal, right-to-know, and environmental updates.
- Enforce safety requirements.
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all mechanical shop staff
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- 5+ years of automotive repair experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Lead Technician, Shop Foreman or Advisor with previous technician experience
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with other technicians, service advisors, and customers, along with strong communication skills to explain maintenance needs and recommendations clearly.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
Hours:
- FULL TIME
- Monday through Friday (8am to 5pm)
