Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers at the parts counter, addressing inquiries, and offering expert advice on parts selection.
- Handle phone inquiries and provide information on parts availability, pricing, and compatibility.
- Efficiently and accurately process parts orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers and service technicians.
- Collaborate with vendors and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing parts shipments.
- Monitor and maintain adequate levels of inventory to meet customer demand.
- Conduct regular stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory records in the dealership's system.
- Utilize technical knowledge to assist customers and service technicians in identifying the correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Stay informed about new products and advancements in automotive parts to provide up-to-date information.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately, providing customers with receipts for transactions.
- Collaborate with the service and sales departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of parts orders.
Job Description
Purpose:
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for picking up and delivering parts and for the carrying out of those jobs and/or assignments set forth by the department manager. This person will administer internal procedures and reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checks with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
- Checks with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs.
- Delivers parts to body shop and distribute parts to technicians.
- Verifies invoice match purchase order for each pick-up.
- Checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
- Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups and collect signatures on each delivery entry.
- ·Unloading deliveries and turn in paperwork and undelivered parts.
- ·Handles basic maintenance of the delivery truck (filling tank with gas, checking oil, organization)
- Advise parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
- Assist service department with attendant responsibilities (managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers' cars)
- Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- 1+ years of experience in automotive dealership parts department.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and provide excellent assistance.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and their applications.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Honda experience
Schedule:
- FULL TIME
- 5 days a week / 2 days off
- Weekend availability required
