Job Description

The Automotive Service Technician performs multi-point inspections and repairs on Dealer inventory as well as customer vehicles as needed. The ideal candidate has formal experience in performing diagnostics, multi-point inspections, and repairs on all makes and models of vehicles. Candidates must have a professional set of tools to use on the job, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, and replacing parts and components
  • Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
  • Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Performs multi-point inspections and repairs on dealer inventory as directed
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Performs diagnostics on all vehicle systems including electrical, steering/suspension, engine performance, etc as needed
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
  • Keeps shop equipment clean and orderly and assists the Shop Manager with monitoring all machines, tools and equipment for any necessary maintenance
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Follows all safety and security procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years experience performing automotive mechanical work in a formal shop setting or equivalent formal education in automotive repair preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Broad scope of knowledge in automotive mechanical/electrical, aftermarket parts, and inventory control
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must have own tools/box
