Job Description

Sonic Automotive is a Fortune 500 company and is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States. Sonic Automotive operates in 13 states, is comprised of over 100 dealerships, and represents 29 different brands of automobiles. These dealerships provide numerous services, including sales of new and used cars; sales of replacement parts; vehicle maintenance, warranty, paint, and collision-repair services; and arrangement of extended-warranty, financing, and insurance contracts for the company's customers.   Purpose: The Title Clerk will track auction purchases and sales and post invoices for our Central Buying Solutions in Houston, TX.   Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Track Auction purchases/sales and bill stores via ach
  • Organize all paperwork, check for completeness (signatures, verify VIN, etc.)
  • Load units into the corresponding dealer's location 
  • Reconcile select accounts and schedules monthly
  • Post manual journal entries and any other postings as required
  • Post invoices, prepare checks and issue online payments
  • Provide administrative support to management, other Sonic locations, vendors and staff as needed
  • Track and coordinate title corrections due to lost titles, POA, lien releases, statements of facts etc.  Coordinate with intercompany locations and or vendors in a professional manner to obtain needed titles and or supporting documentation for completion
  • Wholesale title and sister store reassignments
  • Resolution of lien payoff discrepancies
  • Review, approval, payment initiation, and lien payoffs.

  Skills and Qualifications:  
  • Knowledge of CDK a plus, dealership accounting preferred
  • Strong excel, MS office
  • Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Computer literate; accurate and heavy data entry skills required
  • Self motivated; able to prioritize tasks and organize schedule
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Knowledge of CO/CA/NC/TX DMV requirements a plus
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Good Judgment

  • All applicants  must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report and valid drivers license.
