Job Summary:
The Payroll Tax and GL Analyst will work in the Sonic Shared Services Center and play a leading role in driving process improvement and operational effectiveness and efficiency for the payroll team.  They will be responsible for all payroll to general ledger account mappings and reconciliations, all aspects of payroll taxes including managing the partnership with ADP, agency inquiries, and reconciliation of all payroll withholding accounts.  This position will also be responsible for all issue resolution relating to the payroll GL and payroll taxes.  They will also assist with Oracle testing and quarter upgrades as appropriate.   
Essential Functions:
•Play a leading role in enabling the payroll team to improve business performance and operational effectiveness/efficiency.
•Ensure tax payments are paid and recorded accurately and timely; and all tax filings are made accurately and timely by our ADP partners. Stay abreast of all current tax rules and regulations to ensure Sonic is compliant.
•Oversee payroll configuration of the general ledger mappings so all pay elements correctly map to the general ledger. Ensure all payment elements are properly recorded in the general ledger.
•Complete monthly SOX reconciliation to ensure all payroll related items are properly reconciled and documented each payroll. 
•Complete monthly payroll liability account reconciliations timely to ensure compliance with SOX controls.
•Log all tax and GL related SRs with Oracle and follow through to resolution. 
•Develop Sarbanes-Oxley compliant processes, procedures, and controls for all payroll tax and GL related processes. 
•Review and develop as appropriate SOPs relating to tax filings, remittances, payroll postings, and general ledger reconciliations.
•Play a leading role in ensuring Oracle updates are properly tested prior to being applied to production. 
•Develop into an inhouse SME on the ADP Smart Compliance System and Oracle HCM System. 
•Ensure compliance with internal controls and all external payroll compliance regulations and requirements.
•Build relationships with internal partners (human resources, finance, benefits, and operations) to ensure SLA’s/expectations are being met and to identify opportunities to streamline/improve processes. 
•Work on special projects as directed by the Payroll Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
•4 year degree in accounting/business and/or equivalent work experience•Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA or CPP•Proficient in Word and Power Point•Extremely proficient in Excel•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
