Job Summary-
The Payroll Control Analyst will work in the Sonic Shared Services Center and be responsible for all payroll processing submissions into Fusion including error resolution related to all payroll submissions,  balancing and transmissions of NACHA & Positive pay files to the bank,  reconciliation and reporting for net pay items related to payroll processes. Responsible for quarterly and annual payroll balancing. Responsible for planning and execution of Year End Playbook. Partner with Payroll Operations , Payroll Accountant, and Garnishment Analyst on any out of balances relating to payroll cash items.  Provide back up for Payroll Accountant and Lead Payroll Process as needed.   
Essential Functions- 
Responsibilities include:•Play a leading role in enabling the payroll team to improve business performance and operational effectiveness/efficiency•Ensure accurate and timely submissions for all jobs relating to the processing of all Sonic  payrolls. •Ensure accurate and timely submission of NACHA files to the bank.  Ensure confirmation of all submissions have been received from financial institutions and any other third parties.•Ensure voids and reversals are appropriately processed in Fusion payroll and recorded appropriately. • Responsible for "instant" pay card funding to associates, distribution of pay statement to associates, pay  card  inventory, pay card distribution and bank account funding/reconciliation.    •Develop SOPs relating to Payroll submissions and all related activities including any applicable reconciliation's.•Work closely with the payroll processing team to ensure all processing is completely accurately and timely.•Develop Sarbanes-Oxley compliant processes, procedures, and controls for all payroll-related processes•Plan and execute the Year End Playbook for all year end processes. This includes the payroll balancing each payroll/quarter/yearend, as well as, W2 processes. •Ensure compliance with internal controls and all external payroll compliance regulations and requirements•Build relationships with internal partners (human resources, finance, benefits, and operations) to ensure SLA’s/expectations are being met and to identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes•Develop new or modify existing policies to increase productivity and optimize efficiency•Work on special projects as directed by the Payroll Director
Minimum Qualifications-
This position requires a 4-year degree in accounting/business and/or equivalent work experience.  Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA or CPP.  Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.  Candidates must have excellent communication skills. 
Desired Experience- 
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years experience in payroll processing and payroll accounting. Candidates should have experience in administering payroll which includes in depth research skills and knowledge.  Candidates should have thorough knowledge of payroll "best-in- industry" practices.  Candidate should have a thorough knowledge of how payroll feeds to the financial statements.   This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, and an ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.   Candidates must be detail oriented, results oriented, and have an ability to think strategically.
