Job Description



Purpose:


 


The HRIS Specialist provides support for the day to day operations of the HCM systems to ensure effective and efficient support of our core HR processes.  This position is responsible for security maintenance and system administration of Sonic Automotive’s Oracle Fusion HCM system. The HRIS Specialist serves as front line support to end users in addition to overseeing data integrity, processing of imports/exports, and report development. This position participates in HCM systems’ process improvement projects along with implementation of future HCM products. The HRIS Specialist position works under the direction of the HRIS Director.
 


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Administer HCM systems suite security role setup and assigned accesses.
  • Ensure that the HRIS system is appropriately secured and that the integrity of data is not compromised.
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly SOX Compliance audit activities on security access to ensure confidentiality and separation of duties within the HCM suite.
  • Assumes Lead role in testing HCM system updates through production-live completion.
  • Stays informed on upcoming system updates and prepares HRIS testing plan accordingly.
  • Administer Organizational tables within the HCM suite.
  • Develop analytical reporting to support departmental, regulatory, and executive requests through Oracle-Fusion reporting tools.
  • Process regulatory reporting such as annual Equal Opportunity Employment Surveys and WC data audits.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and/or reports and validate results to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Participate in the implementation of HCM processes and assist in the rollout/training of new applications.
  • Builds knowledge of Sonics’ security, organizational structure, and HCM systems in order to advance into an HRIS Supervisory position.
  • Work independently and ensure accuracy of final results.
  • Assist and support Sonics’ Home Offices and Regional HR/PR Staff.
  • Act as back-up for the HRIS Director.
  • Strives to take on more responsibilities to alleviate work overload from the HRIS Director.
  • Seeks out addition work from other HR departmental teams during idle times.
  • Keeps a "How can I help?" attitude with both internal and external customers.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:


  • Complete understanding of HR, payroll and benefits processes
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, structure, functions, SQL, and processes
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Accounting experience is a plus
  • Knowledge and or hands-on experience with EEOC reporting regulations
  • Willingness to learn new reporting tools for mobile dashboards.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as business needs change
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail


Qualifications:


  • 5-6 years of combined experience in Human Resources, HRIS, Benefits, System Administration
  • 3-5 years of experience in data management and analysis – highly preferred Oracle Fusion
  • HRIS security administration is a plus
  • Strong interest in auditing system security, identifying issues, and resolving quickly  
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills with ability to interpret data, alert Department Head of issues, and offer a direction for resolution  
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential OSHA, compensation and financial information 
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, VBA coding
