Job Description

Basic Function:  

Function as part of the Procurement team. Provide financial analysis and support in property maintenance for Sonic Automotive dealerships, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, data modeling, and reporting. Gather data to understand the trends affecting a specific type of category, geographical region, or industry to help Sonic Automotive make important investment decisions. Support facilities project manager with developing and manages facility repairs and capital improvement projects. Review bids that are provided by Sonic Automotive’ s preferred facilities management partner and provide a detail analysis to internal key stakeholders.  

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Perform detailed variance analysis of monthly and year-to-date maintenance and repair expense variances to plan; prepare monthly expense forecasts.

·         Assist with completing and presenting an annual budget for all maintenance and repair expense accounts for over 100 Sonic Automotive dealerships.

·         Provide financial reporting for consolidated and regional expenses, as well as specific location financial reporting as needed.

·         Perform detailed data analysis to support contractual scope adjustments based on property adds/deletes/changes and other out-of-scope items.

·         Work closely with Sonic Automotive preferred facilities management partner in completion of all variance analysis, budget, and forecasting activities.

·         Act as systems administrator for several key financial systems.

·         Perform ad-hoc financial analysis.

·         Handles other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year accredited college or university; emphasis in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in financial analysis or accounting experience preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience preparing annual property budgets
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities without losing sight of individual details
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational and decision-making skills required
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Displays confidence when interacting with both internal and external personnel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, organize, and efficiently manage time and tasks
  • Strong consultative skills with the proven ability to influence others
