Job Description

EchoPark SOX Analyst

The EchoPark SOX Analyst primarily supports the EchoPark business with process and controls expertise to drive effective financial controls management and compliance throughout the business.   The position will be responsible for assisting with the segment financial statement risk assessment, controls monitoring, policy/procedure development, process improvement/refinement and working with the segment to identify changes in business processes impacting internal controls over financial reporting under the guidance of the Director of SOX Compliance.   The ideal candidate will possess the  experience and education that fit the following job description and qualifications. ,

Job Description

·         Monitors the financial/accounting and IT controls performed by the segment and communicates with the Director of SOX Compliance and Divisional Controller on process and/or control improvement areas;

·         Supports the EchoPark segment in monitoring for changes in business which impact internal controls over financial reporting, assisting with the development of processes, re-engineering and streamlining processes and identifying key financial statement controls;

·         Assists in the development of new accounting processes / controls;

·         Assists with the development of policies and procedures to support the segment;

·         Serves as liaison/business partner to the business in support of their needs to evaluate processes in the determination of control design and/or remediate control deficiencies;

·         Supports the business with input and evaluation of internal control improvements;

·         Collaborates with the business to ensure coverage of specific business processes with related financial statement impact;

·         Supports the segment with remediation of internal controls deficiencies;

·         Identifies areas of opportunity for process improvement;  

·         Completes special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of SOX Compliance;

Qualifications

·         BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required;

·         4+ years of progressive experience preferred, with a mix of experience in controls, audit, accounting/finance, and/or consulting roles;

·         Working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, US GAAP and COSO 2013 control framework;

·         Risk assessment, process improvement and SOX experience preferred with a public company working on financial processes and SOX internal control documentation and compliance, both business and IT processes/controls;

·         Strong analytical, process evaluation and root cause analysis capabilities; challenges the status quo;

·         Intermediate process re-engineering, flow-charting, and data analysis background and experience;

·         Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; ability to see the broad implications of events, as well as understand the details;

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work proactively and independently in a fast-changing environment;

·         Comfortable challenging supplied inputs and questioning existing processes;

·         Attention to detail

·         Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPoint;

·         Must be able to travel (up to 25%) as needed;
