Sonic Automotive seeks a Corporate Communications Specialist to assist with executing the company’s internal communication strategy to foster associate awareness, collaboration and growth:
  • Assist with implementing the company’s internal communication strategy by drafting, reviewing and editing content for internal executive messages, including but not limited to emails, videos, internal social media postings, quarterly newsletters and other communication channels
  • Ensure internal messages are delivered consistently and aligned with the company’s strategic goals
  • Creatively develop content, leveraging storytelling, to foster associate engagement
  • Develop, review and provide guidance on communication and policies for company-wide distribution
  • Partner with human resources, legal and other operational teams to ensure internal messaging is aligned with associate programs and policies
  • Provide review and guidance to cross-functional teams on messaging to targeted teams or work groups
  • May assist in the evaluation and implementation of internal communications-related tools or platforms  
    Key Competencies
  • Excellent verbal, writing and editing skills including but not limited to developing company-wide messages, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, video scripts and talking points
  • Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once
  • Possess creativity in and experience with developing and publishing social media content
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on multi-functional teams as well as independently
  • Ability to take ownership of projects with minimal direction
  • Experience working with C-suite executives
  • BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or Public Relations
  • 2 – 4 years of work experience in communications and marketing
  • Experience with corporate communication is preferred
  • Proficient computer skills in word processing and presentation development
  • Available for moderate travel
